Green Carnation and Dirty Old Town presents: Green Carnation Anniversary Show Friday 13 and Saturday 14 of November this year!
Ladies and Gentlemen; Finally we have managed to find a way in pandemic times to see the Green Carnation anniversary-concert through!
After we had to move the original concert from late May this year, we decided to add a couple of artists to the line-up that the band has a relation to, but now that both artists have cancelled all shows in 2020, we decided to «go solo», meaning:
The new date for the Green Carnation Anniversary is November 14! But there is more: The band have decided to add another date and make it an anniversary-weekend to remember;
Friday the 13th, the band will perform their first unplugged show since their infamous show «Under the Dam», 15 years ago. The band even promises a few world premieres during the show.
So this is how we’ll pull it through, the Green Carnation Anniversary Weekend will be like this:
Friday November 13, Green Carnation - Unplugged at 9pm
Saturday November 14, Green Carnation - Electric at 6pm and 9pm
On Saturday, we will see Green Carnation play songs from all their albums, plus the World Premiere on their brand new single, The World Without A View.
Tickets purchased for the original concert on May 23rd and for October 3rd will be valid for November 14, 9pm. Because we’ve sold more than 200 tickets - the maximum amount of audience we’re allowed to welcome per show - an extra show is added to Saturday November 14, at 6pm. Tickets for the unplugged Friday and the extra show on Saturday, will be available this Wednesday at 9am CET.
And in case you can’t make it to Kristiansand in November, ticket-refund is of course available from Wednesday Sept 23rd at 9am and for 30 days onward.
Needless to say, our focus on infection control as a promoter, is of utter importance to us and together with the venue, we will make sure all the shows will be safe for all attending parties. The hotel have also been really kind to us, and will from this week on, provide discounted hotel rooms for the entire weekend (!) Please see below for details!

GREEN CARNATION from Kristiansand, Norway, was founded as early as 1990. After founding member Tchort joined legends-to-be EMPEROR and continued in SATYRICON and EINHERJER, the band was laid to rest until their debut album, ‘A Journey To The End Of The Night’ was released in 2000. Following a period with line-up changes, 2001 marked the release of the bands epic ‘Light of Day, Day of Darkness’.
With their albums ‘A Blessing in Disguise’ (2003) and ‘The Quiet Offspring’ (2005), GREEN CARNATION shifted towards a more rock orientated style, before they surprised everyone with the stripped-down record ‘Acoustic Verses’ in 2006. What followed in the same year is perhaps one of the most spectacular DVD recordings metal history. The band played a show in the mountains, under a 30-meter-high dam. Only a year later, GREEN CARNATION disbanded.
After the successful return in 2016, the band continued to play shows in 2017 and 2018. In September 2019, the progressive metal act announced that they were going to record their first album in 14 years, in DUB Studio, with producer Endre Kirkesola (ABBATH, IN VAIN and SOLEFALD), who also produced their classic, ‘Light of Day, Day of Darkness’.
The new album Leaves of Yesteryear was released spring 2020 via Season of Mist and gained massive praise form the world wide rock and metal press.
