Merdø

One of the leading ports on the Skagerrak coast in the 16th and 17th century. Various historic buildings, including Merdøgaard, a captain's villa from the 18th century, which is now a museum. The island is reached by boat.
The island is free of motor vehicles, with lovely, relaxing beaches. Café that serves hot meals, guided tours in the museum and ferry boat during high season. |
