Geographically, Sørlandet is ideally placed in Norway and is close to Europe in general. Comfortable, speedy car ferries sail frequently to and from Kristiansand.
It's easy to get to Sørlandet from Denmark, Sweden or England. Color Line and Master ferries bring you straight to Kristiansand, and there are short distances from this town to whatever destination you might choose. Fjord Line calls at Egersund, where there's a short distance to the western part of Sørlandet. From Strømstad in Sweden you can get to Sandefjord, which is not very far from the eastern parts of Sørlandet.
