Kristiansand
Kristiansand is the capital of Sørlandet (Population: 76 000) and was founded in 1641 by King Christian IV. In addition to being the largest city in our region, Kristiansand is the international hub for air, rail and ferry travel.

Things to see and do

The Viking canal reopened
The Spangereid Canal through Spangereid in Lindesnes, which was reopened in the summer of 2007, enables seafarers to travel between eastern and western Norway without having to round the hazardous coastline at Lindesnes.

If you prefer to spend your days off close to nature - Sørlandet is the right choice! Either you like to go fishing, hiking, biking or diving, you'll find plenty of possibilities here. The selection is vast, have a look for yourself.
